Technology has a remarkable way of opening doors, sparking curiosity, and leveling the playing field. For young students, a computer is no longer just a tool for entertainment—it is a powerful tool to build solutions, express creativity, and help shape the future. During RISE Week 2026, this vision came to life through the First-Ever Coolest Projects Cambodia.

Initiated by the Raspberry Pi Foundation (United Kingdom), Coolest Projects has evolved into the world's leading technology showcase for young people. Since its inception, the movement has been dedicated to celebrating creativity, talent, and problem-solving by providing a vibrant international platform where young makers can share what they have built. Bringing this international showcase to Cambodia was a profound milestone, connecting local classrooms to a worldwide community.

Behind this amazing event is the remarkable growth journey of our students. Through our Code Club network, which has expanded to 63 Code Clubs across 61 schools, we have brought hands-on tech education directly to students. From this thriving national network, 10 exceptional teams were selected to bring their projects to the main stage.

What is most inspiring is the actual progress of the students: they started from learning basic coding logic, grew into building interactive games, mastered debugging (resilience when facing code that doesn't work), and stood confidently to explain their projects to the public. Using tools like Scratch and various programming languages, these young minds have shown rapid progress from passive technology consumers into capable, confident solution-builders.

A truly special honor for the event was the presence of Mr. Darren Bayliss from the Raspberry Pi Foundation, who traveled directly from the United Kingdom to Phnom Penh. His presence not only demonstrated strong international collaboration but also served as a great encouragement to our youth. Darren noted in his speech: “Coolest Projects is not a competition, but a celebration. Whether your project is crafted in Scratch or utilizes AI, your journey of discovery and what you learned along the way while building your projects is what truly matters.”

The partnership between Tech for Kids Academy and the Raspberry Pi Foundation is a most valuable driving force. We are truly proud and deeply appreciative of this collaboration, which aligns perfectly with our vision to build and strengthen the technology education ecosystem at national, regional, and global levels, ensuring breadth and sustainability for the next generation.

This first-ever Coolest Projects is a vital step in pioneering the path for the next generation. We firmly believe that this shared commitment and joint effort will continue to serve as a strong foundation in building a bright digital future for youth, both regionally and internationally.
