You have a sharp axe in your hand—and that axe is called 'Education'
In the remote areas of Cambodia, many students face one of life's most difficult decisions: the choice between "continuing their education" and "dropping out" due to a lack of family resources. To address this, since November, the teams from Tech for Kids Academy and the PEACH Foundation (USA) have been on a joint mission in Siem Reap to bring hope and new educational opportunities to these students.
The PEACH Foundation is an international organization whose primary goal is to provide scholarships and financial assistance to capable but underprivileged students in rural Asia. Ruth Jeng, CEO of the PEACH Foundation, emphasized the profound importance of knowledge:
"Your family has struggled from generation to generation because, in the past, they did not have the opportunity to receive a high-level education. When the chance to learn is missed, it creates a 'chain of poverty' that follows you and leaves you with very few choices in life. But you can break this chain because you have a sharp axe in your hand—and that axe is called 'Education'."
Real-life proof of this success is Tina Hong, a member of the PEACH team and the very first child the foundation ever supported:
"Back in China, people laughed at me because I was poor but still insisted on studying. However, through my persistence and the help from PEACH, I was able to graduate from university, earn a good living, and provide a life for my children in major cities. Meanwhile, those who laughed at me and gave up on their education continue to live in the same difficult circumstances because they lacked the foundation of knowledge needed to change their destiny."
Driven by this spirit of empowerment, the PEACH Foundation has established a clear financial support program to ensure students can continue their education through to university graduation:
As the local coordinating partner, Tech for Kids Academy acts as the bridge between the foundation and 14 target high schools in Siem Reap to ensure that aid is delivered directly to the students who need it most. To date, a total of 89 scholarship slots have been provided across these 14 schools, with 39 students actively studying under the program this year. We plan to continue expanding these opportunities, targeting a total of 150 scholarship slots for the upcoming 2026 academic year.
To ensure this support is as effective as possible, the PEACH Foundation team conducts field visits to assess actual living conditions and family income to identify students who are truly in need.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Tech for Kids Academy would like to express our deepest gratitude to the PEACH Foundation for this meaningful collaboration. We are incredibly proud to see these students gaining the opportunity to build a bright future and become the human pillars of Cambodia’s development.
To continue encouraging the next generation of students who are committed to their studies, we announce the opening of scholarship applications for 2026 starting today!
If you are a student, a teacher, or a school administrator looking for an opportunity to support a student's educational dream, do not let this valuable chance pass by!
