The future of technology represents everyone, everywhere.
Tech for Kids Academy today announces a strategic partnership with Girls Got Game to launch a specialized game development program for girls and non-binary youth ages 13–18. Together, the two organizations are combining resources to build a direct pathway for young women in Southeast Asia to enter the technology sector.
While the gaming industry in Cambodia is growing, the workforce creating it does not yet reflect the diversity of the players. Girls and non-binary youth play games just as much as anyone else, but they rarely see themselves as the creators. The path to becoming a developer often feels inaccessible due to a lack of mentorship or safe learning environments. This partnership closes that gap. By combining Tech for Kids Academy’s educational resources with Girls Got Game’s global network, we are proving to this demographic that game design is a viable skill for them, not just a hobby.
To make a real difference, we are moving beyond simple one-off events to create a lasting support system. The Girls Got Game Jam cycle guides students through a complete journey:
This initiative is bigger than just a competition; it is about building a sustainable future for the region’s youth. By strictly enforcing high standards of child protection and privacy, we are creating the safe foundation necessary for parents to trust the program and for students to take creative risks without fear. This allows us to bring fresh, diverse voices from Southeast Asia to the global stage. By empowering these students today, we are enriching the worldwide gaming industry with new stories and ensuring that the future of technology represents everyone, everywhere
