25 teams of girls ages 10-18 from Cambodia are building a better future using technology.
Phnom Penh, 19 May 2021 – 25 teams of girls ages 10-18 from Cambodia are building a better future using technology. As participants in the global Technovation Girls program, these girls coded mobile apps that solve specific local problems. Technovation Girls is a global technology entrepreneurship program that challenges girls to identify real-world problems and address them through the development of a mobile app. This is the Seventh year Cambodia Chapter has run Technovation Girls.
Among all the submitted teams, only 10 teams are shortlisted for Nation Pitch 2021. All finalists will receive a portion of the 5,000,000៛. The cash and prizes are intended to help further fund their education in STEM and/or assist teams in bringing their product to market.

Senior Division Winner: E2STEM Dynamique | Phnom Penh
App name: Scientifique
Scientifique is an affordable mobile app providing students from the age of 11 to 18 year-old with science lessons for students to do self-learning. Lessons in our app are relevant to Cambodian national curriculum textbooks. We explain theories and concepts using illustrations, analogies as well as tips on learning how to learn and study smartly
Junior Division Winner: Nice Girl | Battambang
App name: Repair
Repair aims to help with the ones struggling with vehicle problems by finding the nearest repairers anywhere and any time. The clients are guaranteed to receive the service shortly, effectively and safely.
1st Runner Up: Believe and Hope | Phnom Penh
App name: Peace Path
Peace Path is an app for depressed people that allows them to speak out their words and treat their mental health nicely unlike most of the apps that just include the songs and some questions. Peace Path introduces specialist doctors to discuss with people who suffer from depression.
People’s Choice Award: The Light of Changing | Kampong Cham
App name: E-Listening & Speaking
E-listening and speaking, an application that can help students to succeed in speaking and listening skills. E-listening & speaking ensures that students learn to listen and speak English they acquire as they learn daily English conversation, word and phrase, tips to study, practice and do tests of listening and speaking.
The lively and engaging pitches were products of an intense 12 weeks of brainstorming and coding, part of Technovation, international social entrepreneurship, and technology program for young girls, the biggest of its kind in the world. Technovation 2021 was co-organized by the Institute of Technology of Cambodia and Tech for Kids Academy with support from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and sponsored by FactSet and Khmer Enterprise.

Despite there being only 10 teams finalists for the National Pitch Event, 25 projects have been submitted to the Technovation Global Submit for deliberation, and all will have the chance to enter future rounds of the final World Pitch which will be hosted virtually from the United States.
