IP & TechPreneur Award 2025 Competition Concludes Successfully, Showcasing Young Women's Ability to Build the Future of Tech Entrepreneurship

The IP & TechPreneur Award is a 7-week technology entrepreneurship training program that aims to support young women (ages 15-18) in transforming their creative ideas into technology solutions with a positive social impact. This program has contributed significantly to building new-generation human capital through training in core skills for the 21st century.

In this season, 40 outstanding young women were selected and underwent dedicated training in entrepreneurship, technical skills for creating prototypes, and especially, understanding the importance of Intellectual Property (IP). The achievements of the 8 teams showcased in the Final Pitch session are proof of the immense potential of Cambodian young women to innovate and prepare to become future leaders.

Among the 8 talented and highly committed teams, the winning teams of the IP & TechPreneur Award 2025 competition were selected as follows:

  • Champion: Team Diabesties
    • Project: A mobile app that helps protect those at risk of and with diabetes through managing diet, exercise, and regular medication intake.
  • 1st Runner Up: Team The Fearless

"I was thrilled on my daughter's behalf and also felt so proud that she could reach this point. Before, we thought this was very rare because technology... whenever you talked about tech, it was only for boys. But now, the girls are brave and are participating very strongly in the technology sector. It's not just boys who can do it; girls can do it too." - Parent of a Winning Team Member

"I am very appreciative and acknowledge the participation from the students, especially the female students. The strength I see... is that they have a good business plan, a good product prototype, and some teams have even already developed their own mobile application."- H.E. Suon Vichea, Advisor of the Ministry of Commerce and Director of the Department of Intellectual Property

"This program is truly impactful for Cambodian citizens because the problems they have raised are not for specific people, but for the Cambodian citizens as a whole. It's a good thing that we can give them the space to explore what is new and what they want to solve... they will do it from the heart, so they can solve the problem with all their heart, and the solution will be great as a result."- Judge, Ms. Lay Puthineath

"Yes, I would highly recommend this program to others because this program is meant for young women... I want to encourage all of you, especially young women in rural areas or around Phnom Penh, please don't be afraid to join this kind of program. You will learn many new things, not just technology, IP, and entrepreneurship, but you will have a strong mindset, and you will build more networks." - Team Diabesties, Champion

We are truly in awe of the effort and creativity of all the students from the beginning to the end of the program. We believe in their potential and hope that they will continue to create a positive impact on their communities and society going forward.

This program was made possible with the support of the Ministry of Commerce, funded by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), organized by Tech for Kids Academy, co-organized by ADITI Academy, with media partnership from CC-Times, and venue sponsorship from Khmer Enterprise.
